Abandon ship....(-:

I feel bad for abandoning blogging.  Life is busy...very busy.  I have a lot on my plate for certain, but I haven't given up, or even let up on perusing "Elite".

Here's just a small attempt to list the gains I've made since my last post.

Double Unders = a pretty solid 15-20+ unbroken consistently.  My jumprope was too short, and for months I've been reminding myself to get a new one, so my success during WODs has been dependent on if I had Charlie's, or could find one at the box that was salvageable.  Not easy.

Squats = 140# back squat.  I would be surprised if I weren't over that were I to try again soon.  Sucky thing is, I weigh somewhere around 140 on any given day.  But not on the day I hit it, lol!  On that day, I was 144.   So, I still can't officially say it's body weight.  Ugh.  Soon though!

Those are the biggies, but the biggest thing for me has been the disappearance of the word impossible.  I think it started with my first toes to bar (at home, after a verbal tutorial from one of the coaches that I work with at school), and was solidified the first time I climbed the rope.  Those are two things that were impossible when I started this adventure.  I looked at them both and thought, never.  I know I'll get stronger and I'll survived the WODs but there will be some things that I always have to modify.  Today, they're do-able.  In a WOD even.  Of course, they both suck - and I have the ripped hands right now to prove it, but they're not impossible.  So now, everything is on the horizon.  Even the very scary muscle up.

Boot Camp is also coming along.  I'm still getting really sick once we get to week 3-4 and the counts go up, but I think it's from over exertion.  Bicep stuff really gets to me, but I'm not giving in to the urge to use a lower band.  I missed week 3 and 4 last month, so we'll see what this months bring.

Okay, that's it for now. Maybe I'll blog again soon.

Old Post for CFT

From Feb.22

CrossFit Total today - basically a "test" to give you measurable benchmarks. 1 Rep Max (the most you can do, one time) for Back Squat - 118#, Press - 60#, and Deadlift - 148#. I think I could have actually gone heavier on the Deadlift. Total = 326. Trying not to be sad that it took me 6 months to get to that score, and instead thinking to what it will look like 6 months from now. Also thinking I need to go actually workout now...(-:

Diane

Snatch for 1RM - 70#
Got the 70 pretty solid, but could NOT pull off the 75.

Diane - 6:59
21-15-9
Deadlifts 155# (I did 115#)
Handstand Pushups (on the box)

This weekend I ran my first official race - a 10K.  My time was 1:01:09:05.   The chick I was aiming to beat beat me by .02 of a second.  Yes.  .02   I think the hair on her leg crossed the finish line before me.

Still moving....

I'm still moving....I promise!  Just not blogging!  Honestly, the issue is, I get logged out of the account I use to blog every time I log in to my work email, and most of the time, I'm too lazy and and annoyed to sign back in.  Yeah.  I just admitted that.

So, what's happened?  Well, I'm eating the way that's worked for me in the past - which means, not paleo.  I'm a calorie counting gal, and it works, so I'm sticking with it.  Until I change my mind again.  I want to lose AT MOST 5-6 more lbs of fat (but that's a big AT MOST - I'm actually okay where I am), and then I expect to watch the scale climb as I get stronger.  I DO NOT want to be stick thin skinny girl, at all.  AT ALL.  Even right now, I'm not liking the thinness of my arms and legs, but I know that it's temporary until I start eating to add muscle.  It's more percentages than anything.

I broke my toe last Thursday.  Ouch.  No, really, OUCH.  Pain.  Worse than childbirth.  Really.  And then last Sunday, my loving husband stepped/kicked/twisted/mutilated it again.  I screamed, cried, and blacked out.  No, not really blacked out,  I just couldn't convince myself to open my eyes.  Or stand up.  Or breathe.  It was bad.  I appreciate my pinky toe so much more now.

I ended up getting to know the recumbant bike at the gym (holy butt cramps!) then moved on to the elliptical, and yesterday I tried running again, after some short running bursts at boot camp this week were survivable.

April 20   5K   32 minutes   (ugh...but it was early, no sleep the night before, and a broken toe)
I need to learn how to run.  How to pace myself correctly etc.  My best run times are treadmill times and I can push a lot harder when I see the numbers

Skill Set
5 Handstand Push ups (blah, yeah)
10 One Legged Squats
20 Double Unders unbroken (I did 15 the first round, 21 the second!!!!PR!!!, and 14 the third, but I tried for 5 minutes, lol!)
So...yeah...broken toe = PR unbroken double unders....

Today's WOD
Team Wod, I worked with Mary Schwing, our box's Masters competitor (60 plus)  (-:

20 Min AMRAP
400M run
10 Power Cleans (RX was 95, we did 75# and I was done at the end, it was not going up again!)
10 Hand Release Push Ups
8+3 Rounds (so 8 full rounds, and 3 power cleans  - meaning we did everything 4 times each, I think...)

Just some numbers:

2 April 12
MidThigh Snatch 2.2.2 x 5 (2-3 min. rest)   #50

31 March  12
Power Snatch #45

26 March 12
Front Squats 1x1x1x1x1x1  #120

I need a goal...

I think I've said this already.

Anyway, todays WOD:

5x5x5x5x5 Deadlifts   (120#, tried 130# but my back was rounding, so back to 120 for me)

Followed by:
4 RFT
20 Wall Balls (10# to the 10' - my goal was height and I made it to the 10' today, so a-ok)
20 Kettle Bell Swings (35# UNTIL my running and DLs caught up with me in Rd. 4 - down to 26#)
400 m run (nice and comfy!)

Um, I think it was just over 17 min.  I got distracted by the exhausting and annoying KB situation.

I could have done better, but I just wasn't in it today.  I had a rough AM with the kiddos, and I "ran" a 5K this morning at the gym, plus a 10K two days ago.  Excuses, excuses.
